技術與材料簡介

Bygone Tomorrow is an artistic robotic half-bust work created at approximately the scale of a 5'6" female figure, measuring 32 inches high, 17 inches wide, and 9 inches deep.

The work combines handcrafted sculpture, mechanical structure, and an AI interactive system, with multiple materials contributing to its visual and technical layers, including sculptural outer shell, silicone skin, resin components, metal structure, as well as mechanical and electronic systems.

In its physical treatment, the surface intentionally preserves signs of breakage, wear, incompleteness, and asymmetry, allowing the work to appear as though it has undergone a long period of dormancy, damage, and reactivation. These qualities are not merely stylistic effects, but are closely tied to the work’s concept: they allow the piece to express not simply “the future,” but a future that has already passed through time and now reappears in the form of a relic.

In this work, technology does not exist merely as a functional tool, but as part of the artistic concept itself, forming an integral part of the work’s overall expression.

《過去的未來》是一件以半身像比例製作的藝術機械人作品，尺寸為 32 吋高、17 吋闊、9 吋深，比例接近一位 5 呎 6 吋女性的半身像尺寸。

作品結合手工雕塑、機械結構與人工智能互動系統，並以多種材料共同構成其視覺與技術層次，包括雕塑外殼、矽膠皮膚、樹脂部件、金屬結構，以及機械與電子系統。

在外形處理上，雕塑表面刻意保留殘破、磨損、不完整與不對稱的視覺特徵，令作品呈現出一種像經歷長時間沉睡、損毀、再被重新啟動的狀態。這些處理並非單純造型效果，而是與作品主題緊密相連：它們讓作品不只是表現「未來」，而是表現一個已經走過時間、如今以遺物姿態重新出現的未來。

科技在本作品中並非作為單純功能性工具存在，而是作為藝術概念的一部分，與作品主題共同構成其整體表達。
